Richard Hedgepath was born February 23, 1961 in Nashville Tennessee. He grew up in Nashville and graduated from Hillwood High School, Belmont University, and Nashville School of Law.
While attending college, Richard worked as a law clerk at his father’s law office, and during law school, Richard worked as a Deputy Clerk in the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office for Davidson County, Tennessee. Upon graduating from law school, Richard served as Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Marietta Shipley, Judge of the Second Circuit Court for Davidson County, Tennessee.
In private practice, Richard has primarily represented clients in divorce cases, probate matters, and conducted divorce and custody mediations. Richard has been a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Mediator since 1998, and has mediated hundreds of cases.
Mr. Hedgepath has been a presenter in family law seminars, and mediation training seminars. He is an active Pro Bono Lawyer and Pro Bono Mediator, and he volunteers in the community as a member of “Hands on Nashville”.
Richard is a divorced Father of two teenagers, and when he is away from work he enjoys golfing, hiking with his dog, playing basketball with his 17 year old son, and being a taxi driver for his 14 year old daughter.
Richard enjoys being a lawyer and receives much satisfaction from helping people that need help.
